Muza se complace en anunciar el lanzamiento de su nueva colección para primavera/verano 'Santería' — una exploración a la presencia Afrocaribeña en la cultura Latina. Santería estará disponible en su tienda online y en su estudio en New York a partir del 27 de abril.
La colección incorpora las plantas y la iconografia detrás de los colores y sus significados en sus piezas ready-to-wear que pueden ser combinadas con la lencería con gravados que son típicos de la marca.
''Quería entender el tabú que hay con la Santería y esta curiosidad inspiró la colección. Esta intriga viene en gran parte de la música que escuchaba desde pequeña —como la salsa y el guagancó— que tienen mucha influencia de la Santeria. Muchos de los músicos también estaban envueltos en la Santería, como La Lupe, una de mis cantantes favoritas y quien ha tenido un gran impacto en mi arte y mis diseños. Con esta colección, quería rendir un homenaje a nuestras raices africanas que son tan importantes en nuestra cultura".
Muza es una marca establecida por Polet Guzmán, artista y diseñadora puertorriqueña radicada en New York. Guzmán usa la ropa como un medio para empoderar a todas las mujeres sin importar su tamaño y trasfondo a traves de sus piezas. Muza ha tenido exposición en publicaciones como la nueva Playboy, C-Heads Magazine. Creem, S Magazine, Sticks and Stones y forma parte del shop online de la revista Nylon.

MUZA PRESENTS 'SANTERÍA'
Muza is pleased to announce the launching of its new spring/summer collection 'Santería' — an exploration of the Afro-caribbean presence in the Latin culture. Santería will be available at its online store and their New York city studio since April 27.
The collection incorporates plants and the iconography behind colors and their meaning in their ready-to-wear pieces that can be combined with the engraved lingerie that is typical from the brand.
"I wanted to understand the Santeria taboo, and that curiosity inspired the collection. This intrigue comes, in great part, from the music I heard in my childhood —as salsa and the guaguancó— that have a lot influence from Santeria. Many of the musicians were also involved in Santeria, as La Lupe, one of my favorite singers that has had a great influence in my art and designs. With this collection I wanted to make homage to our african roots that are so important in our culture".
Muza is a brand established by Polet Guzmán, Puerto Rican artist and designer based in New York. Guzmán uses clothing as a medium to empower all women, regardless of their size and background, through her pieces. Muza has been exposed in publications such as the new Playboy, C-Heads Magazine, Creem, S Magazine, Sticks and Stones and is part of Nylon's online shop.
