La diseñadora puertorriqueña Ana María Mariana expandirá la colección de primavera Sage & Pepper PRIMAVERA 2017 que lanzó a inicios del mes de abril al introducir un nuevo color: mint pepper. La colección– ideal para la primavera caribeña– tiene telas, colores, y cortes frescos, ligeros y trendy que se pueden vestir tanto en vacaciones como en un día de paseo por la ciudad. Como se esperaba, Sage & Pepper tuvo éxito y, hasta el día de hoy, está SOLD OUT.
Sin duda alguna, Sage & Pepper y la selección de piezas ready-to-wear son predilectas para el clima en la isla, y tienen la elegancia que distingue las colecciones de Ana María Mariana. La diseñadora asegura que, a partir de la selección de piezas ready-to-wear, nació la idea de realizar trunk shows cada dos meses con el propósito de llevar la marca Ana María Mariana a diferentes tiendas y boutiques dentro y fuera de Puerto Rico.
El pasado 5 de abril, en el hotel Olive Boutique en Condado, la diseñadora fue anfitriona de un trunk show que, además de presentar su reciente colección primaveral, también incluyó piezas premium y one of a kind de colecciones pasadas como: Moroccan Queen, con texturas complejas y colores dorados; Origami, con prendas en tonos nude y blanco; y Oceanía, compuesta de telas aterciopeladas, y lentejuelas con preciosos tonos tornasol que asemejan los colores del océano. En sus colecciones, siempre resaltan los estampados, los acentos de colores, las texturas llamativas, y los diseños modernos que apelan a todo tipo de clientela.
Ana María Mariana diseña y confecciona las piezas en su atelier en la Calle Condado en Santurce, y afirmó que los cinco años que lleva en el casco urbano de la ciudad la han inspirado. Le gusta que la diversidad de personas en Santurce siempre esté realizando diferentes actividades que la influyan y ayuden a crear sus diseños. Según ella, esta área de San Juan es donde mejor se aprecia el street style y la multiplicidad de estilos que le hacen recordar sus años de universidad.
Por esto, la colección Sage & Pepper me encanta: refleja la esencia de la ciudad en su nítido estampado y colores refrescantes. Además, la ropa luce bien en cualquier tipo de cuerpo, y va con cualquier estilo. Me encuentro ansiosa de ver qué tiene Ana María Mariana entre manos para su próxima colección; sin duda alguna, será igual de genial y moderna que Sage & Pepper.

The Puerto Rican designer Ana María Mariana will expand her spring collection, Sage & Pepper SPRING 2017, which launched at the beginning of April, in order to introduce a new color: mint pepper. The collection, ideal for spring in the Caribbean, has a mixture of light and trendy fabrics, colors, and fresh cuts that are ideal for vacations as well as for walks around the city. As expected, Sage & Pepper was a success and has been SOLD OUT until today.
Without a doubt, Sage & Pepper and its ready-to-wear pieces are ideal for the Island’s climate, they possess that elegance which distinguishes Ana María Mariana’s collections. The designer guarantees that, based on selected ready-to-wear pieces, the idea to do trunk shows every two months was developed in order to expand her brand into different stores and boutiques, both in and out of Puerto Rico.
On April 5th, in Condado’s Olive Boutique Hotel, the designer hosted a trunk show in which, other than presenting her recent spring collection, she also included premium and one of a kind pieces from past collections, such as: Moroccan Queen, with its complex textures and golden colors; Origami, with white and nude colored pieces; and Oceanía, composed of velvety fabrics and sequins with beautiful and iridescent tones which resemble the ocean’s colors. Prints, accentuation of color, eye-catching textures, and modern designs, which appeal to all types of clientele, are always highlighted in her collections.
Ana María Mariana designs and manufactures pieces in her atelier, located in Calle Condado in Santurce, and assured that the five years she has spent in the city’s urban area have inspired her. She likes that the diverse people in Santurce are always doing different activities which influence and help create her designs. According to Ana María Mariana, this particular area of San Juan is where street style can be appreciated the most, and the various looks remind her of her collage years.
This is why I love the collection Sage & Pepper: it reflects the city’s essence with its crisp prints and refreshing colors. In addition, the clothes look good on every body and goes with any style. I am anxious to see what Ana María Mariana has in store for her next collection; without a doubt, it will be as genius and modern as Sage & Pepper.
