A las cinco de la mañana, la luz del sol comienza a reflejarse en los cristales de los edificios, en la calle mojada, y en la obra del artista que, al igual que cualquier trabajador, madruga para comenzar su jornada. A esta hora, cuando todo es más bonito, Melissa Vargas se inspira para curar Brillotín, exposición en la que se pueden apreciar pinturas, esculturas, murales y fotografías.
Las piezas son creaciones plásticas de 12 jóvenes artistas: Jóse Luis Sanabria Irizarry, Egbert Leandro, Dale C. Browne De Jesús, Pedro Dávila (DVLA), Karina Stella, Jimena Lloreda, Hannied Rosael Día Goerke, María Angélica Renta Díaz, Marielys Román, Penélope Milenna Pabón Concepción, Ilia M. Collazo, y la curadora Melissa Vargas.
Brillotín, abierta al público desde el 7 de marzo hasta el 14 de abril, comparte el espacio en Open Studio Project (Paseo Caribe) con el proyecto de estudio de Sofía Maldonado, Garten. La exhibición surge de Gallery Nights, propuesta que, el primer martes de cada mes, fomenta el arte local.

At five in the morning, the sunlight begins to reflect off buildings’ mirrored facades, on the wet street, and on the craft of the artist who, like any other worker, rises early in order to start their day. It is at this time, when everything seems to be more beautiful, that Melissa Vargas is inspired to curate Brillotín, an exhibition where paintings, sculptures, murals, and photographs can be appreciated.
The pieces were created by 12 young artists: Jóse Luis Sanabria Irizarry, Egbert Leandro, Dale C. Browne De Jesús, Pedro Dávila (DVLA), Karina Stella, Jimena Lloreda, Hannied Rosael Día Goerke, María Angélica Renta Díaz, Marielys Román, Penélope Milenna Pabón Concepción, Ilia M. Collazo, and the curator Melissa Vargas.
Brillotín is open to the public from March 7th to April 14th, and shares its space at Open Studio Project (Paseo Caribe) with Sofía Maldonado's studio project: Garten. The exhibition arises from Gallery Nights, a proposal that, the first Tuesday of every month, aims to encourage local art.
