Sabemos que el El San Juan Hotel ha sido el escenario de muchas noches inolvidables a través de su larga y respetable historia, la cual se ha ido generando a base de las huellas que artistas como Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Gilberto Santa Rosa, entre muchos otros artistas reconocidos a nivel internacional, han dejado al presentarse en el hotel, y con su espíritu, un prestigio imposible de demoler.
La pasada noche del 3 de marzo, en el recién remodelado Chico Cabaret, localizado en el lobby del hotel El San Juan y antes conocido como Club Tropicoro, se presentó Ileana Cabra, también conocida como “ILe”. La cantante puertorriqueña, quien acabando de lanzar su primer disco “iLevitable” en Junio del 2016, obtiene por el mismo su primer premio Grammy en la categoría de Mejor Álbum Latino de Rock, Música Urbana o Alternativa el 12 de Febrero de este año.
Musicalmente hablando, ILe regularmente hace tributo a sus principales influyentes, en canciones como "La Pared" del puertorriqueño Roberto Angleró. También autor de "Si Dios Fuera Negro", una canción imprescindible para nuestra cultura. "Dolor", escrita por su abuela Flor Amelia de Gracia, es otra de estas canciones. También ha hecho diferentes colaboraciones en vivo con artistas como Kevin Johansen, Jorge Drexler y Gustavo Cordera.
En la presentación en el Chico Cabaret, ILe nos deleitó con el repertorio de su última producción “iLevitable”. Desviviéndose en cada bolero y con el sabor de su bugalú, nos logró atrapar. Gracias a su entrega, y al estilo clásico que comparte con el lugar, la noche cumplió con todas las expectativas, siendo una inolvidable que nos dejó con ganas de más.
De ésta manera, no solo disfrutamos a tope la actividad, sino que presenciamos la marca de una nueva huella en la historia de El San Juan Hotel.
ILE AT THE CHICO CABARET
We know that El San Juan Hotel has been stage for many unforgettable nights throughout its long and respectable history, one that’s been made of from the footprints that artists like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Gilberto Santa Rosa, among other internationally known artists, have left from their presentations at the hotel, and with their spirit, a prestige impossible to demolish.
The night of the 3rd of this month, at the recently remodeled Chico Cabaret, located at El San Juan Hotel’s lobby and known before as Club Tropicoro, Ileana Cabra, also known as iLe, presented. The Puerto Rican singer, who just launching her first album
“iLevitable” in June 2016, gets her first Grammy Award for Best Latin, Urban or Alternative Album in February 12th of this year.
Musically speaking, iLe regularly makes tribute to her main influencers, in songs like “La Pared” (The Wall) from Puerto Rican Roberto Angleró. Also author of “Si Dios Fuera Negro” (If God Was Black), an imprescindible song for our culture. “Dolor” (Pain), written by her grandmother Flor Amelia de Gracia, is another one of those songs. She has also made different live collaborations with artists like Kevin Johansen, Jorge Drexler and Gustavo Cordera.
At the Chico Cabaret presentation, iLe delighted us with her last production iLevitable’s repertoire. Fully devoted in each bolero and the flavor of her boogaloo, Ileana Cabra managed to capture all of us. Thanks to her dedication, and to the classic style she shared with the space, the night filled all expectations, being an unforgettable one that left us wishful for more.
In this way, we did not only enjoy the event to the max, but we also witnessed the mark of a new footprint in the history of El San Juan Hotel.
