Un evento de arte, moda y diseño, donde la música es protagonista

Green Sofa Sessions, la serie estelar de Armario Local que entrevista a los mejores músicos y bandas de Puerto Rico, realizó su primer evento en vivo el pasado viernes 10 de febrero, con una entrevista en el ya legendario sofá verde y una sesión musical del artista puertorriqueño Jorge Chafey.
La conocida serie comenzó hace un año como un espacio donde diferentes bandas locales independientes hablaban de sus diferentes proyectos y tocaban su música en vivo. Luego de un tiempo la serie regresó pero con un nuevo giro, un evento abierto a su público, llamado Green Sofa Sessions Event producido en conjunto con Rafael Marxuach Studio, su nueva sede.
Bajo una noche templada, el espacio del evento estaba ambientado con luces que colgaban de los árboles, gomas pintadas de blanca que servían como asientos y un tablón recostado sobre una pared color blanco servía como canvas para que los invitados dibujaran.
Frente al telón, que mostraba videos y fotos de Jorge Chafey, estaba el nítido sofá verde con un cactus en un lado y una mesa con una planta, imitando el sentir y comodidad de una sala. Fue allí donde Estefanía Colón, la creadora y fundadora de Armario Local, entrevistó al artista sobre su carrera como músico independientemente en Puerto Rico, sobre como es su proceso al crear música, entre otras anécdotas.
Luego de la entrevista la audiencia bailó y cantó al son de los funky beats de Jorge Chafey y su banda, interpretando algunas canciones como "Te Azota" en vivo.
También disfrutaron de la exquisita comida criolla y bebidas del negocio vecino La Casa de Chiqui. Mientras que dentro de la rústica casa color verde menta estaba localizado el 'Local Designer Market' curado por nosotros AL Magazine, donde diferentes artesanos locales como Fufú, Viento Colao, Cocó, Pernoctándo, Suds, Woodtrill y Pupa by Gio vendieron su arte y diseños.
Fue una velada inolvidable llena de excelente música, agradable compañía y buenas vibras, pero sobre todo fue una noche que fomentó la escena artística local independiente de la Isla.
Esperamos que se repita.

AL MAGAZINE'S FIRST GREEN SOFA SESSIONS EVENT WITH JORGE CHAFEY
an event of arts, fashion and design, where music is at the center stage
Green Sofa Sessions, the stellar series of Armario Local that interviews the best musicians and bands in Puerto Rico, held its first live event the past Friday, February 10th with an interview on the already legendary green sofa and a musical session by the Puerto Rican artist Jorge Chafey.
The well-known series began a year ago as a space where different independent local bands could talk about their different projects and play their live music. After a while the series returned but with a new twist, an event open to its public called the Green Sofa Sessions Event produced along with Rafael Marxuach Studio, its new headquarters.
Under a warm night, the event space was set with lights hanging from the trees, tires painted white that served as seats, and a wooden board rested on a wall and served as canvas for the invitees to draw.
In front of a backdrop, which showed videos and photos of Jorge Chafey, was the crisp green sofa with a cactus on one side and a table with a plant, imitating the feel and comfort of a living room. It was there where Estefanía Colón, the creator and founder of AL Magazine, interviewed the artist about his career as independent musician in Puerto Rico, about his creating process and other personal anecdotes.
After the interview the audience danced and sang to the sound of the funky beats of Jorge Chafey and his band, playing some songs like "Te Azota" live.
They also enjoyed the exquisite criolla food and drinks from our neighbor business La Casa de Chiqui. While inside the rustic mint green house the Local Design Market was located, where different local artisans such as Fufú, Viento Colao, Cocó, Pernoctándo, Suds, Woodtrill and Pupa by Gio sold their art and designs.
It was an unforgettable evening full of excellent music, pleasant company and good vibes, but above all it was a night that fomented the local independent art scene of the island.
We hope it repeats.
