La diosa Minerva encontró su templo en Santurce, un lugar que rinde culto a las bellas artes, incluyendo la gastronomía y la coctelería, para alimentar tanto el cuerpo como el alma.
El artista plástico Roberto Silva Ortiz presenta su exhibición individual, Reducto, este próximo jueves, 15 de diciembre de 2016 a las 7:00 pm en Espacio Minerva. La muestra sostiene un diálogo con el Chef Javier Nassar, quien diseñó un menú de seis platos acompañados por un minucioso maridaje, inspirado en la exhibición de Silva Ortíz. Esta es la primera vez que Espacio Minerva presenta en un mismo evento la gran gama de actividades que toman lugar en sus espacios, estrenando su Kitchen Lab y +Bar, para deleitar a los presentes más allá de los cinco sentidos.
Reducto consta de una serie de óleos y esculturas en donde Silva Ortiz, amante del arte clásico, lo representa con una mirada moderna interviniéndolas con algún modo de ruptura. Las esculturas de cabezas de estilo clásico son cortadas con una sierra para que esas «cicatrices» sean cubiertas con oro o plata. Las pinturas siguen la idea de fragmentación en una serie de desfase, desliz o pixelado de la imagen combinado con la aplicación de manchas de colores brillantes sobre lo que sería un prístino busto grecorromano de mármol. Así, el artista crea un efecto atemporal de cara al futuro a un arte clásico que nos acompaña por milenios en nuestra cultura occidental y que parece no perder vigencia. A su vez, Silva Ortíz presenta con belleza la ruptura con la tradición, la resistencia al cambio representada por el «reducto» o cascarón roto de cada pieza para luego transformarla en una versión evolucionada, mejorada y actualizada de sí misma.
En correspondencia con las obras de Reducto, el chef Nassar presentará cada platillo y su maridaje en el Kitchen Lab. La experiencia culinaria tomará lugar a las 7:00pm y a las 9:00pm para dos selectos grupos de 30 comensales, quienes disfrutarán de una presentación audiovisual creada por Zapatero Films, también basada en la exposición. Luego, los invitados pasarán a la exhibición guiada por el mismo Silva Ortiz. Esta es una oportunidad única para conocer de primera mano al artista, su obra y su trasfondo creativo.
Radio Red proveerá su «música fresca» desde su nuevo espacio permanente en la vitrina de Espacio Minerva frente a la Avenida Ponce de León con una serie de DJs bajo su programación regular. La transmisión en vivo puede escucharse en www.radio-red.com.
A las 6:00pm, el instructor Paulo Torres de Sadhana Healing Arts impartirán una clase gratuita de yoga como muestra de las sesiones que ofrecen de lunes a viernes a las 6:30am y a mediodía en Espacio Minerva.
Tanto la exhibición Reducto como el +Bar, que tiene de trasfondo un impresionante mural de la diosa Minerva por el artista Gerardo Cloquell, están abiertos al público general. No obstante, el Kitchen Lab está disponible solo por reservación accediendo a www.espacio-minerva.com.

Espacio Minerva: A Metaphysical Experience and Multisensorial Premiere in Santurce
The goddess Minerva found her temple in Santurce, a place that worships the beautiful arts, including gastronomy and cocktails, to feed both the body and the soul.
Plastic artist Roberto Silva Ortiz presents his individual exhibition, Reducto, this next Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 7:00 pm in Espacio Minerva. The show holds a dialogue with Chef Javier Nassar, who designed a menu of six dishes accompanied by a meticulous pairing, inspired by the exhibition of Silva Ortiz. This is the first time Espacio Minerva has presented in the same event the wide range of activities that take place in their spaces, premiering their Kitchen Lab and +Bar, to delight the present beyond the five senses.
Reducto consists of a series of oil paintings and sculptures where Silva Ortiz, Classical art lover, represents it with a modern look intervening with some way of rupture. The Classic-style head sculptures are cut with a saw so that those "scars" will be covered with gold or silver. The paintings follow the idea of fragmentation in a series of offset, slip or pixelated image combined with the application of colored spots bright on what would be a pristine Greco-Roman bust of marble. Thus, the artist creates a timeless effect facing the future to a classic art that accompanies us for millennia in our western culture and that seems to lose no validation. At the same time, Silva Ortiz presents the rupture with tradition, resistance to change represented by the "redoubt" or broken shell of each piece and then transform it into an evolved, improved and updated version of itself.
In correspondence with the works of Reducto, Chef Nassar will present each dish and its pairing at the Kitchen Lab. The culinary experience will take place at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. For two select groups of 30 guests, who will enjoy a presentation audiovisual created by Zapatero Films, also based on the exhibition. Then the guests will pass to the exhibition guided by the same Silva Ortiz. This is a unique opportunity to know firsthand the artist, his work and his creative background.

At 6:00 pm, instructor Paulo Torres of Sadhana Healing Arts will give a free class as a sample of sessions offered Monday through Friday at 6:30 am and Noon in Espacio Minerva.
